About Westcoast ARC
The Club
Westcoast Adult Riding Club (W.A.R.C.) is an incorporated club and is affiliated with the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (H.R.C.A.V.). The club is based at Elcho Park Equestrian Centre, 185 Elcho Road (Cnr of Bacchus Marsh/Geelong Rd) Lara, VIC. All levels and abilities of horse and rider are accommodated for.
In addition to our 12 monthly rallies we also hold clinics and regular competitions at Elcho Park Equestrian Centre. We are a part of the Golden Spurs Dressage Series which is a very popular series and runs every year at various district clubs around the area during the summer months.
Membership
Club membership usually stands at about 70-90 members with riders of all levels attending rallies, clinics and competitions. Some members prefer to only ride at rallies whilst others regularly travel and compete in competitions throughout Victoria and, more recently, South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia.
The H.R.C.A.V. club year runs from 1 November until 31 October with our A.G.M. traditionally being held in October. We are always looking for new faces to join our friendly and diverse group of riders and horses in all shapes, sizes, breeds and personalities!
Our History
Westcoast Adult Riding Club (W.A.R.C.) was established in 1981 when it was originally named Werribee Adult Riding Club. In 1989 the club relocated to Elcho Park Equestrian Centre and changed its name.
Westcoast A.R.C. has been affiliated with the H.R.C.A.V. (Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria) since its inception in 1981.
